Honesty I feel is the most important value point in almost everything we do. Especially when it involves any relationship friendship, love, brother and sister, boss and coworker, teacher and student. If there is nothing but false pretenses what is the point of having a relationship with someone? Honesty is the key to any successful endeavor in our lives I feel. I mean I'm not innocent or naive everyone including myself has told a a lie, but I've learned sometimes it comes back to haunt you. Do I try to always be honest for sure, but sometimes I do know there are situations where a little white lie can spare someones feelings rather then the brutal truth for those with less tolerance on criticism. I have some friends who can't take the truth for nothing without being over dramatic so in some cases you just learn how to work with different people's personality and accommodate that friendship as best as possible, and even though they may not want to hear it, sometimes they just need to know it. I's just how you do or say things to them. Simply by telling the truth you never have to remember all the lies you've told the truth will set you free =).
Cherish the friend who tells you a harsh truth, wanting ten times more to tell you a loving lie. ~Robert Brault

ReplyDeleteso can totally understand them friends that just don't get it. They can't take the truth. But I think the telling the truth is what friendship is about. And yes I do think that you should to SOME point "accommodate that friendship as best as possible". But this would be only be if was not at the cost of losing your character and integrity.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I can't stand is being lied to. What ever it may be. Hate It !!!!
hello sister i thought i would write on your blog...so i really like the picture, its very funny and very true. i think that if you do tell your friends the turth in a rude way then they have the right to be mad but if your just honest in a nice way the should just deal with it or not be your friend. i had this one friend when i was younger like 16 and she would always ask for the truth about the way she look or if she was actting weird about a situation and i would tell her the truth. then she would turn around and be depressed or just get so sad whenever anyone told her thr truth but she wouldnt stop asking . at first i just started to lie to her to make her feel better then i just got so sick of it so i decided to be honest. she didnt really end up hanging out with me as much but thats her fault im just being honest
ReplyDeleteI grew up before the internet was developed or color television for that matter. It is so funny to see how kids react with their main media being the internet. My boys have the ability to talk to so many girls at once that I wonder just how honest they are about who all they are talking to. Just makes you wonder what the techno problems will be in twenty more years.
ReplyDeleteomg the picture made me laugh that was so funny :] ok and yeah i agree if you lie it will come back and haunt you!!
